Adult craft courses

Background information:

Craft has always been treasured within the Ulster Folk and Transport Museum. The making of a crafted artefact tells and records people’s stories; protecting heritage and traditional skills. Making something can have a positive impact on our lives. It can create space to relax and socialise, allow for the learning of new skills and the sharing of ideas.

The Learning Department offers you and your family the opportunity to sample and recreate home life in the past as well as traditional crafts from the turn of the twentieth century. The Museum’s craft classes offer a range of activities allowing you to go home with a product created by your own hand. Our experienced tutors will guide you each step of the way.

Once again we offer family craft workshops where an adult can bring a younger family member and enjoy a morning crafting together. Each of the classes have been designed to accommodate the busy lifestyles people lead today. We therefore offer classes which last between a half-day or a full weekend and cover all abilities.

Some of the classes offered include:

Where possible, items from the Museum’s collections are used as a basis for the classes.
