Harvest Hearth Baking

Saturday 22nd October
Time: 11.00am – 1.00pm
The harvest is safely gathered in and preparations are being made for a celebration. Our tutor will guide you as you make and bake various types of bread adding fruits of the season for extra flavour. Participants will use a griddle and pot oven in one of the Museum’s farmhouses.

Christmas Hearth Baking

Saturday 3rd December
Time: 11.00am – 1.00pm
Spend the morning in a rural farmhouse baking over an open fire. As you reminisce of Christmas in times gone by, the tutor will guide you as you make and bake a fruit brack and spiced scones.

Hearth Baking:The way to the Heart is through the Stomach.

Saturday 4th February
Time: 11.00am – 1.00pm
Participants will make and bake various types of bread using a griddle and pot oven in one of the Museum’s farmhouses. You will hear about the tradition of the straw love knot and then make one to take home.
