BioBlitz Event at Crawfordsburn Country Park

Northern Ireland is taking part in Ireland’s BioBlitz for the first time!!
The Centre for Environmental Data and Recording (CEDaR), with support of Northern Ireland Environment Agency, is holding its first BioBlitz.
A BioBlitz is an exciting race against the clock. Over a 24 hour period, scientists, naturalists and members of the public work together to find as many species as possible within a defined location.
Not only is a BioBlitz great fun, but it also collects useful biodiversity information which can help conservation.

Crawfordsburn Country Park is one of four sites across the island of Ireland participating on the same day, together with Phoenix Park, Dublin; Lough Boora, Co. Offaly; and Glengariff, Co. Cork. These four sites will compete to find the most species within 24 hours as part of Ireland’s BioBlitz 2012 (http://bioblitz.biodiversityireland.ie/).
Please come along and join in!
This event is open to all so come along on the day and join in. There are events scheduled throughout the day. Some of these need to be booked in advance so please see the BioBlitz Events page for details.
If you wish to discuss the BioBlitz in more detail please drop CEDaR an email (cedar.bioblitz@nmni.com).
